The 18th Maritime Industries Conference welcomed in Kish Island the Iranian navy commander of marine corps, Habibollah Sayyari, and some other Iranian authorities and activists of maritime industries. SYRAF was highly acclaimed by the Conference for its Statewide Localization of Maritime Equipment Project. Having initiated its business in 1998 by designing and manufacturing vessels’ navigation lights and onshore facilities, SYRAF succeeded within two decades of its life in procuring a large portion of equipment needs in maritime industries and making these industries needless of importing many of similar foreign products. Another potent step of SYRAF started to be taken in 2009 toward maritime industries’ self-sufficiency was the manufacture of specialized light steel-aluminum made vessels, and SYFAR feels proud of itself to have manufactured several workshop, passenger and services vessels so far.
